4/6 Passage Analysis #2. Choose any interesting or significant passage or section of dialogue from Act II or the beginning of Act III (at least 10 lines). First: translate it into your own words, Second: reflect on it in detail. See the handout for a reminder about how to complete this assignment. Reflection: Analyze any metaphors, puns, etc. Reflect on what it shows about a character, make predictions, connect to another part of the play or to real life, analyze the symbolism, or give your opinion about it, etc.Tuesday

12/15 In order to study for the Romeo & Juliet exam on Wednesday, read over all of the notes that you took in class, look through any related assignments, and think about your answers to questions 1-18. Read over all of the quotations from Acts I-V Quotations, and make sure you understand and recognize them. You may earn up to 10 points extra credit on the exam by writing down thorough answers to the study questions.
11/12 Complete Passage Analysis #1. Choose an important passage of at least 10 lines. Part I: Translate each line of the passage into modern English. Part II: Analyze the passage. See the link for further instructions. Due Thursday.
4/2 Begin writing your review of Baz Lurhman’s modern adaptation of Romeo & Juliet. Argue whether his movie is an effective adaptation of the original play or whether you think it does not effective translate into the modern day. Be sure to analyze specific scenes and motifs. Due Thursday. Begin looking for your song lyrics for the lyrics as poetry assignment.
