  5. Why does Bob Ewell want to fight Atticus? How does Atticus respond to his taunts? What does Atticus' reaction reveal about his character?
  6. Why does the jury stay out so long? Be specific. (Atticus explains the reason to Scout and Jem).
  7. What does Aunt Alexandra mean when she says, “You can scrub Walter Cunningham till he shines, you can put him in shoes and a new suit, but he’ll never be like Jem” (225)? Do you agree with her? Explain.
