1. exuberant: uninhibitedly (extremely) enthusiastic

The exuberant cheerleader jumped up and down with excitement.
2. dire: dreadful, terrible, causing great fear

The smelly, grimy man was in dire need of a shower.

3. genial: warmly and pleasantly cheerful, cordial

The genial hostess greeted all her guests and made them feel pleasantly at ease.
4. emanated: flowed out, came forth, originated

A foul odor emanated from the laundry basket.
5. sage: a profoundly wise person

The sage man advised all the people in the village. Many went to visit the sage to get advice about their issues.
6. aesthetic: concerning the appreciation of beauty or good taste (opposite of pure intellectuality)

The woman was only concerned with the aesthetic qualities of the car so all she cared about was the color of its paint.
7. rancor: bitter resentment, hatred, malice

The rancor in his voice was obvious as he told her how much he hated her.
8. procured: to obtain or get by care, effort, or the use of special means

After months of searching, he finally procured the rare antique, golden monkey.
9. ardor: passion, fervor, great warmth of feeling

She had so much ardor for Hello Kitty that she owned a Hello Kitty telephone, bed spread, notebook, and bandaids.
10. tumult: violent and noisy commotion in a crowd, uproar

A tumult poured out of the high school just after the 3:00 bell rang.
11. impartial: not biased, fair

The impartial referee was appreciated by the crowd in the stadium.
12. valor: boldness in battle, bravery, courage

The young boy showed a great deal of valor when he stood up to the bully.
