1. devoid: completely lacking, empty

The extremely dumb person was devoid of intelligence.


2. disheveled:
Marked by disorder; untidy

His disheveled appearance made it clear that he had just rolled out of bed.

 

3. lamentable: pitiable, regrettable

The lamentable kitten mewed for milk and was granted it.


4. ostentatious: flashy, gaudy, showy, pretentious (stuck up) Wearing a fur coat when in Bridgeport is ostentatious.


5. patron: a sponsor or benefactor, wealthy supporter of an artist or other

The artist’s patron introduced him to all the gallery owners and gave him studio space.


6. contour: outline of a figure, body, or mass

The policed outlined the contour of the corpse.


7. languid: slow, lacking in energy or spirit

His languid movements were necessary because it was over 110 degrees outside.


8. allure: to attract with something desirable

Her alluring looks attracted all the boys in the room.


9. protuberance: something such as a bulge, swelling, or knob that sticks out

The climbing was easy because there were so many protuberances on the rock.


10. sublime: Not to be excelled; supreme, perfect, heavenly

Warm brownies and vanilla ice cream is a sublime combination.

 

11. parody: imitation of a style, person, show, or text  for comic effect

Jon Stewart’s parody of the president was quite humorous to some. Weird Al parodied many songs.


12. nebulous: vague,
Cloudy, misty, or hazy

Her nebulous words were confusing.
