Quotation Reflection: Ch. 12 - 16 |
Choose two of the following quotations to discuss and reflect upon in detail. Be sure to read the context of the quotation as well. Be prepared to discuss your analysis with the whole class. 1. "The moment he did so, there came what seemed a tumultuous rush of new life, other life than his own, pouring like a torrent into his heart, and hurrying through all his veins, as if the mother and the child were communicating their vital warmth to his half-torpid system. The three formed an electric chain." 105 2. "It was nonetheless a fact, however, that, in the eyes of the very men who spoke thus, the scarlet letter had the effect of the cross on a nun's bosom. It imparted to the wearer a kind of sacredness, which enabled her to walk securely amid all peril." 112 3. "The scarlet letter had not done its office." 114 4.
