Write a position paper for Huckleberry Finn.
Write about two pages interpreting the novel, either a specific passage
or an angle on the novel as a whole. Be sure to use direct quotations
from the novel to focus your argument. Focus more on the content of
your writing than on the form.
The purpose of this assignment is for you to
develop your own thoughts and to make an argument so that our class
discussions are more focused and interesting.
Example topics: This novel is not actually racist at all, this novel is not immoral or anti-religous but really critiquing Southern society, or Huck's transformation to standing up for
his own beliefs, or an analysis of the passage on page 65 - 69, or
an analysis of the river and braided strands of the theme of freedom,
etc.
