Wednesday 12/7 Work on the take-home exam and start watching the movie version of The Crucible.

Thursday 12/8 Complete book notes for Huckleberry Finn and The Crucible. See the link for details. Due tomorrow.

Friday 12/9 Finish watching the movie version of The Crucible. Complete book notes for The Scarlet Letter and Frederick Douglass. See the link for details. Due Monday before you take the final. To study for finals, complete all your book notes and finish the practice materials from class. Finish your take home exam.

Wednesday 11/30 Finish reading the scene (get at least to page 114) and then analyze the scene. See the link for details. Due Friday

Thursday 12/1 Finish up your scene analysis if you have not done so already and then do a few practice SAT questions at the college board web site.

Friday 12/2 Read in your IR book. All second quarter IR book tests must be taken by Friday, December 9th.

Monday 11/14 Read to page 9-14 and 17-27 in The Crucible. Read carefully so that you’re prepared for a reading quiz and/or class discussion tomorrow.

Tuesday 11/15 Read to page 44 in The Crucible. Read carefully so that you’re prepared for a reading quiz and/or class discussion tomorrow.

Wednesday 11/16 Finish reading your IR book if you have not done so already. All tests must be taken by Thursday, November 17th

Thursday 11/17 Read to page 61 in The Crucible. Read carefully so that you’re prepared for a reading quiz and/or class discussion tomorrow.

Friday 11/18 Enjoy the Thanksgiving break and get ahead in your IR book. All IR book tests must be taken by Friday, December 10th (before finals).

11/17 Finish your take-home exam and review for the Quotation Identification & Analysis exam (read through your notes and the notes on-line).

11/18 Read in your IR book.

Thursday
11/19 Take some notes on the movie version of The Crucible (you can start this in class while you watch, or do it all for homework). Which scenes, casting choices, organizational decisions (cutting, adding, re-ordering), etc. are good ones. List similarities and differences between the movie and the play.

Friday
11/20 Read in your IR book and add more notes (as above) based on what you watched in class today.

Monday
11/9 Complete the scene analysis assignment. See the link for details.

Tuesday
11/10 Read to page 132 (134--brown book) in The Crucible and choose two meaty quotations to reflect on. Write over a page on one, or a half page on each.

Wednesday
11/11 Read in your IR book and enjoy the holiday.

Thursday
11/12 Work on the take-home exam. Due Tuesday.

Friday
11/13 Read in your IR book and work on your take-home exam.

Week 11

Monday
11/2 Take careful notes on pages 3 - 28. Write down significant quotations that convey information about personalities and what actually happened in the forest that night. About one page of notes filled with quotations, page numbers, and brief annotation is sufficient.

Tuesday
11/3 Read to page 48 of The Crucible (the end of Act I). Take notes on the reading as you did last night (get a few notes from the reading in class as well, but only a few are necessary).

Wednesday
11/4 Read to page 68 (74 brown book) of The Crucible. Choose two meaty quotations from the reading and reflect on them. Write a half page on each.

Thursday
11/5 Complete the character quotation assignment. See the link for details.

Friday
11/6 Read in your IR book.
