Be creative and write about what interests you, but
please follow the guidelines below:
- Develop
a character based story, not a plot based story
- Show
Not Tell
- Create
a believable setting
- Create
developed characters with contrasting personalities and show their
emotions
- Have
an interesting conflict and a plot (but not too complex)
- Use
dialogue and describe tone of voice
- Use
physical description (facial expressions, gestures, body language,
etc)
- Use
the five senses and be descriptive
- Limit
your story to 2 – 5 scenes (allow at least two pages of writing for
each scene)
- Write about 5 pages (more
is okay)
