Map Projections Video

  • Make a short film (30-60 seconds) depicting a type of map projection.
  • The film should explain how the projection depicts the earth on a flat surface.
  • It should describe the benefits of the projection (who would use this projection?)
  • It should also depict some of the shortcomings of the projection.
  • Don't only use maps as your background.
  • This is a very dry subject, so try to engage your audience through their emotions. (This isn't easy)

Google Earth Placemarks:

  • Create GE placemark for a city of your choice.
  • It should include the following:
    • Location: cite at least two relative location points
    • Place: note at least 10 separate items
      • Put a small photograph in your list depicting 3 of your items.
    • Movement: also include 2 small photographs
    • Human Environment Interaction: include one example of how humans have changed the environment and one example of how humans have adapted themselves to the environment
        • Include one photo
    • Region: Note one possible region your place belongs to.
  • For photos use the following image tag
    • <img src="http://www.random.com/hey.jpg">
    • Make sure to use this EXACT format
